Daly Point Wildlife Reserve, south east of Bathurst, is a fantastic place to see all sorts of wildlife, but especially birds. Its extensive trail and boardwalk tour will take you around the marsh and woods along the shore. Here are some examples of the fresh air fun you can have:

The Park and Lake:
Atlas Park is located in the Village of Pointe-Verte, right near the Bay of Chaleur. It’s built around a flooded rock quarry that was fed slowly from an underground water source, and is now used as a recreational area for all kinds of activities, all year round. The lake is very deep at 87 feet, filled with limpidly clear waters, and unlike other lakes and rivers it doesn’t have water currents. This controlled environment makes it an ideal SCUBA diving facility for training and classes of all levels. It’s the only PADI Recreational Dive Facility in Atlantic Canada. The park is open 365 days a year, for kayaks, rowboats and pedal boats as well as fishing for Arctic Char in the summer and ice fishing in winter. Four beautiful trails surround the water where visitors are entertained by the antics of New Brunswick’s provincial bird the Chickadee.
Treat yourself to a delicious meal at the restaurant where you can choose from burgers, seafood, specialty poutines and other casual dishes or stop in for breakfast or brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 on. The restaurant is licensed and offers a great selection of beers, wines and spirits.
